This is a page completely dedicated to the wonderfullness that is Olly. Well I wrote and designed this site.

Academicness

Postgraduate

I am doing a PhD in astrophysics in the Physics and Astronomy department at the Open university in Milton Keynes. You can keep up with my endevours at work on my work homepage.

Undergraduate

I studied physics at Imperial College for four years and I graduated with a first. During those four years I specialised in all things astronomical. For my final year project I did a molecular dynamics simulation of a dusty plasma. My report can be found here (you'll need Adobe), or if you don't want to read it you can get the jist of it from watching a video of it here, (it is 15.4MB though). Those four years of toil have left me with the title Oliver Butters MSci(Lond) ARCS AMInstP FRAS.

A-levels

I did my A-levels at Diss Sixth form centre. I read physics, maths, further maths and business studies, in which I achieved AABC respectively.

Personal

I am engaged to Becca, she's the other one on the site. We met at Imperial when I was in my first year. We got engaged on the Greek island of Santorini in August 2002. I used to live in a small town called Diss, incase you don't believe me here is a link to it's website!

Interests

Well the fact that I am doing this might indicate that I like the whole web design thing. I seem to spend a lot of time doing DIY and tidying up after Bint, nothing too exciting, but certainly no physical exercise of any sort!

Childhood

I was born in Norwich. I went to Clover Hill first school until i was eight then I moved on to St. Michaels V.A Middle school until I was twelve. From here I went to Earlham High School were I stayed until I was fourteen when I moved to Diss High School. I did my G.C.S.Es there and stayed to do my A-Levels there too.
